Girona signs Arica Carter

Arica Carter

Spar UniGirona (LF Endesa) signed 29-year-old American (who also has an Azerbaijani passport) shooting guard Arica Carter (173cm-1996, college: Louisville) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. She was the top scorer at Avenida in the LF Endesa last season, with 12.1ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.7apg, and 1.4spg in 31 games. Carter helped them reach the cup final and the league semifinals. In the 2024-25 season, she was named to the Eurobasket.com All-Spanish League Third Team. Carter also played 12 games in the Euroleague, where she averaged 10.7ppg, 1.8rpg, 3.5apg, and 1.4spg.
In 2019, she was drafted by the Phoenix Mercury (WNBA) in the third round (32nd overall).
She graduated from the University of Louisville and it will be her seventh season in pro basketball. Carter has been regularly called to the Azerbaijani Senior National Team since 2024.
She has played on three different continents: Europe, Latin America, and North America. Carter has played professionally in Greece (Panathinaikos), Mexico (Astros), and Spain (Estudiantes, Al-Qazeres, and Jairis).
Among many awards, her team won the Spanish League Regular Season in 2024. She was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBPF Honorable Mention back in 2022.
