Regular Season Round 23: Ruskon-Mord. - Stroitiel Engels 67-64

Sixth-ranked Stroitiel Engels (10-12) made lots of trouble for first ranked Ruskon-Mordovia (22-2) in Saransk on Saturday. Ruskon-Mordovia managed to secure only three-point victory 67-64. However their fans expected much easier game. Ruskon-Mordovia outrebounded Stroitiel Engels 44-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Vladimir Lidyaev (203-87) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Roman Semerninov (200-81) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Ruskon-Mordovia's coach Dmitry Osipov used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Victor Zvarykin (198-86) produced 23 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Pavel Zhukanenko (194-86) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Ruskon-Mordovia have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Ruskon-Mordovia maintains first place with 22-2 record. Stroitiel Engels at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Ruskon-Mordovia are again looking forward to face Stroitiel Engels (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Stroitiel Engels will have a break next round.
