Very predictable result in Surgut where sixth ranked Universitet-Yugra (10-6) defeated 12th ranked Irkut Irkutsk (2-12) 70-58 on Sunday. Universitet-Yugra forced 23 Irkut Irkutsk turnovers. Strangely Irkut Irkutsk outrebounded Universitet-Yugra 46-27 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Serbian Nikola Lepojevic (195-82, agency: BeoExcell) fired 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Alexander Savenkov (205-82) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Aleksandr Zaykin (206-84) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and power forward Andrey Chernysh (212-90) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Irkut Irkutsk players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Universitet-Yugra moved-up to third place, which they share with TEMP-SUMZ and Ryazan. Irkut Irkutsk lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Universitet-Yugra will meet at home Parma (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Irkut Irkutsk will play against Samara-SGEU (#6) and hope to secure a win.
