Regular Season Round 33: Ruskon-Mord. - Spartak SP 74-68

An interesting game for Ruskon-Mordovia (26-3) which hosted in Saransk second-best Spartak St.Petersburg (20-11). First ranked Ruskon-Mordovia managed to get a 6-point victory 74-68. Ruskon-Mordovia forced 22 Spartak St.Petersburg turnovers and outrebounded them 51-33 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Spartak St.Petersburg was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Dmitriy Zagnoyko (196-85) stepped up and scored 21 points for the winners and forward Roman Semerninov (200-81) chipped in 2 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. The best for the losing side was guard Alexander Matveev (194-91) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Andrey Semenov (201-90, college: JMU) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Four Spartak St.Petersburg players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ruskon-Mordovia have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Ruskon-Mordovia maintains first place with 26-3 record. Spartak St.Petersburg at the other side dropped to the third position with 11 games lost. Ruskon-Mordovia will again play against Spartak St.Petersburg (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Spartak St.Petersburg will have a break next round.
