Regular Season Round 20: ZTE KK - Szolnok 84-54

The game between Top Four teams took place in Zalaegerszeg. Third ranked host ZTE KK (15-5) smashed one of their biggest challengers Szolnok (15-5) 84-54. The game was mostly controlled by ZTE KK. Szolnok managed to win third quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Szolnok to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard James Kinney (187-90, college: San Jose St.) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import point guard Darrin Govens (185-88, college: St.Joseph's) who added 18 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five ZTE KK players scored in double figures. Naturalized American power forward Jarrod Jones (205-90, college: Ball St.) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian Goran Vrbanc (193-84) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. ZTE KK have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Szolnok. ZTE KK is looking forward to face Kormend (#5) on the road in the next round. Szolnok will play against PVSK Pannon in Pecs and is hoping to win this game.
