Regular Season Round 9: KTE-Duna - MAFC 77-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked MAFC's (1-8) road loss to twelfth ranked KTE-Duna (2-4) 69-77. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-11. But MAFC won third quarter 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KTE-Duna dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to MAFC's 30. KTE-Duna forced 19 MAFC turnovers and outrebounded them 37-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by MAFC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian swingman Marko Djerasimovic (198-84, agency: BeoExcell) nailed 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Montenegrin point guard Milutin Djukanovic (190-91) accounted for 21 points and 6 assists. Four KTE-Duna players scored in double figures. Indian-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (201-87) came up with 20 points and point guard Laszlo Polyak (191-93) added 12 points respectively for MAFC in the defeat. KTE-Duna maintains twelfth place with 2-4 record. MAFC lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost. KTE-Duna's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Kormend at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MAFC will play against ZTE KK (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
