Regular Season Round 12: Dynamo K. - Dynamo NR 95-51
Date: January 8, 2017
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Dynamo NR (6-7) was crushed on the road by second ranked Dynamo Kursk (11-1) 95-51. Dynamo Kursk dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Dynamo NR's 30. They outrebounded Dynamo NR 49-27 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Dynamo Kursk especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Dynamo NR's players. The winners were led by international center Maria Vadeeva (193-98) who scored that evening 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Epiphanny Prince (175-88, college: Rutgers) supported her with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Dynamo Kursk players scored in double figures. Dynamo Kursk's coach Lucas Mondelo felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 15 points and 5 rebounds by Canadian forward Tamara Tatham (185-85, college: Massachusetts) did not help to save the game for Dynamo NR. Galina Kiseleva (183-93, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 9 points. Dynamo Kursk have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-1 record behind leader UMMC. Dynamo NR lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
