PBL top team - UMMC Ekaterinburg (16-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Dynamo NR (7-9) 84-56. UMMC Ekaterinburg made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when UMMC Ekaterinburg made 7 blocks. Spanish forward Alba Torrens (188-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points. International Eugeniya Belyakova (182-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four UMMC Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. UMMC Ekaterinburg's coach Sandy Brondello felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian forward Tamara Tatham (185-85, college: Massachusetts) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and American center Latoya Williams (192-87, college: Chipola JC) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Dynamo NR. UMMC Ekaterinburg have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. Despite that victory UMMC Ekaterinburg went down to third position due to points difference. Dynamo NR at the other side dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost. UMMC Ekaterinburg are looking forward to face MBA (#5) in Moscow in the next round. Dynamo NR will play on the road against Spartak Vidnoye and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
