Regular Season Round 23: PVSK Pannon - Jaszberenyi 80-76

Everything went according to plan in Pecs where seventh ranked PVSK Pannon (13-10) beat 11th ranked Jaszberenyi (7-16) 80-76 on Tuesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Jaszberenyi won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when PVSK Pannon won last quarter 25-22. The best player for the winners was Bosnian center Ismet Sejfic (208-93, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Anthony Nelson (185-89, college: Niagara) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists. Five PVSK Pannon players scored in double figures. American swingman Brian Williams (196-92, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Haylett Sports) produced 32 points and 6 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and naturalized Serbian forward Aleksa Brbaklic (195-95) added 5 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. PVSK Pannon maintains seventh place with 13-10 record. Jaszberenyi lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 16 games lost. PVSK Pannon will meet at home Atomeromu (#11) in the next round. Jaszberenyi will play against KTE-Duna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
