Second Stage Round 8: PVSK Pannon - Szedeak 93-61

Date: April 25, 2017
An interesting game for PVSK Pannon (19-13) which hosted in Pecs 3rd ranked Szedeak (17-16). First ranked PVSK Pannon had an easy win 93-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Szedeak. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-61. The winners were led by American guard Chris Smith (193-94, college: Utah St., agency: Three Eye Sports) who scored that evening 23 points and the former international guard Zoltan Supola (190-88, agency: HMS) supported him with 20 points. Five PVSK Pannon players scored in double figures. PVSK Pannon's coach Ferenc Csirke felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by Serbian center Nenad Sulovic (202-85, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Szedeak. Serbian guard Andrija Ciric (198-80) added 9 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. PVSK Pannon maintains first position with 19-13 record. Loser Szedeak keeps the third place with 16 games lost. They share the position with KTE-Duna. PVSK Pannon will meet Sopron KC (#5) on the road in the next round. Szedeak will play against the league's second-placed Kaposvari and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
