Regular Season Round 8: AEK - Enosis 102-71

Leader AEK delivered the sixth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Enosis (2-5) 102-71 in Larnaca. AEK dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Enosis' 34. They outrebounded Enosis 51-23 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. AEK players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Enosis' players. American power forward Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian forward Danilo Tasic (207-93, agency: 011 Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five AEK players scored in double figures. American point guard Anthony Hickey (180-92, college: Oklahoma St., agency: Alti Sport) replied with 24 points and his fellow American import guard Teyvon Myers (188-94, college: W.Virginia) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Enosis. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEK maintains first position with 6-1 record, which they share with Keravnos. Enosis at the other side keeps the fifth place with five games lost. AEK will play against bottom-ranked APOP (#7) in Paphou in the next round where they are favorite. Enosis will play at home against Apoel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
