Very significant was AEK's (#1, 8-1) victory against 3rd ranked Etha (4-4) 79-70. 25 personal fouls committed by Etha helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international guard Andreas Sizopoulos (192-83) scored 26 points to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jeremy Hollimon (190-94, college: Troy) responded with 24 points and 6 assists and his fellow American import guard Trevis Wyche (185-95, college: St.Peter's) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Etha's coach Giorgos Bitzanis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AEK have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-1 record.
