Regular Season Round 13: AEK - Apollon 87-61

Division A top team - AEK (10-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Apollon (2-9) in Larnaca 87-61. AEK dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Apollon's 30. Serbian forward Danilo Tasic (207-93, agency: 011 Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American guard Shane Gibson (188-90, college: Sacred Heart) accounted for 16 points and 10 assists. Four AEK players scored in double figures. American guard Adonis Filer (196-93, college: Florida Atlantic, agency: KMG Sports Management) came up with 28 points and the other American import guard Craig Blackmon (193-87, college: Texas Tyler, agency: Octagon Europe) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Apollon in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEK have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Apollon at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. AEK will play against league's second-placed Keravnos in Strovolos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Apollon will play at home against Apoel (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
