Regular Season Round 17: Szolnok - Szedeak 85-70

A Division top team - Szolnok (14-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat tenth ranked Szedeak (6-11) 85-70. The game was mostly controlled by Szolnok. Szedeak was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Szolnok dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Szedeak's 34. American forward Quincy Ford (203-93, college: Northeastern) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Peter Kovacs (189-88) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Szolnok players scored in double figures. Serbian center Nenad Sulovic (202-85, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Josh Fortune (196-94, college: Colorado) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for Szedeak in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Szolnok have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-2 record. Szedeak lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with DEAC. Szolnok will play against Atomeromu (#6) in Paks in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Szedeak will play at home against KTE-Duna (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
