Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Sparta&K MR (5-5) rolled over 9th ranked Rostov (3-7) in Vidnoye 82-57 on Thursday. Sparta&K MR dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Rostov's 24. They outrebounded Rostov 34-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. Sparta&K MR looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international Daria Ignatova (180-2000) notched 13 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and center Vera Kuchina (194-2000) supported her with 13 points. Four Sparta&K MR players scored in double figures. Coach Sergei Danilin's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by Masha Adashchyk (180-1998, college: Minnesota) did not help to save the game for Rostov. Belarusian swingman Aryna Masko (179-1999, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points and 4 assists for lost side. Sparta&K MR moved-up to sixth place. Loser Rostov keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Dynamo NR. Sparta&K MR will meet Samara (#7) on the road in the next round. Rostov will play against Nika in Syktyvkar and hope to secure a win.
