Regular Season Round 15: ENAD - Anagennises 38-68

An interesting game for Anagennises (12-3) which played road game in Nicosia against 4th placed ENAD (5-10). Second ranked Anagennises had an easy win 68-38. The game was mostly controlled by Anagennises. ENAD managed to win fourth quarter 8-5. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ENAD to just 7 points in third quarter. Anagennises held ENAD to an opponent 21.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Anagennises forced 19 ENAD turnovers and outrebounded them 55-32 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international Mezra Torlak (172-2002) who led her team to a victory with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized Bulgarian power forward Styliana Velinova (192-2000) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Anagennises' coach Iraklis Pittakas felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Natia Athanasiou (173-1995) answered with 11 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Antonia Nikiforou (165-2002) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for ENAD. Anagennises have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 12-3 record having just three points less than leader AEL. ENAD at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost.
