Regular Season Round 3: ENAD - Anagennises 38-106

An interesting game for Anagennises (2-1) which played road game in Nicosia against ENAD (0-2). Anagennises had an easy win 106-38. The game without a history. Anagennises led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ENAD to just 3 points in first quarter. Anagennises dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to ENAD's 26 and made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Anagennises forced 19 ENAD turnovers and outrebounded them 64-16 including a 26-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by ENAD's players. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Styliana Velinova (192-2000) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 19 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American guard Grace Stone (180, college: Princeton) helped adding 29 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Anagennises players scored in double figures. Anagennises' coach Iraklis Pittakas felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Kaela Webb (168-2001, college: FGCU) with 22 points and naturalized British Chrystalla Merkouri (182-1975) scored 9 points. Anagennises will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. ENAD will play against APOP (#3) in Paphou and hopes to get finally their first victory.
