Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Limassol:AEL (#5) and Apollon (#6). Apollon was crushed at home by 25 points 74-99 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by AEL. Apollon was better in fourth quarter 22-19 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AEL dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Apollon 's 28. AEL forced 20 Apollon turnovers and outrebounded them 48-21 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. AEL players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Apollon 's players. It was a good game for American forward Tyrn Bryan Flowers (206-1998, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Green Sports Management) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds (on 19-of-24 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Darrell Davis (196-1996, college: Dayton) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals for the winners. AEL's coach Kalia Papadopoulou felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international swingman Grigoris Pantouris (190-1982) answered with 31 points and the former international point guard Stefanos Iliadis (185-1994, college: S.Florida) added 21 points and 7 steals in the effort for Apollon.
