Serbia U20 improved to 2-1 record beating Latvia U20 in the last game of Group E Qualifying Round Day 1. The winners overcame Latvia U20 70:57 in Crikvenica. Trailing 2:9 in the opening tip Serbia tied the game at 9:9 and won the opening quarter 18:13. Dekic brought 25:15 and Andjusic scored from the perimeter for 35:25 at the halftime. Latvia managed to win the third period 19-18, while the last quarter brought the intrigue back into the game. Serbia had 53:44 with 8 minutes in the game, while Blaus made a jump shot for 53:46. Blaus scored another three points in the game to reduce to 49:53, but Nedovic posted three for 56:49. It was another shot from Blaus for 56:51 and again Nedovic made two free throws for 58:51. Zeidaks and Musli exchanged the baskets for 60:53 and then the teams had some difficulties on scoring another basket. Laksa later reduced to 60:55, while Milutinovic increased the lead for Serbia at 62:55. Nedovic made it 64:55 and Laksa kept Latvia alive at 64:57 with two minutes in the game. The top-scorer for Serbia scored one more free throw, while Mitrovic brought another two for 67:57. Dekic made the final 70:57 win for the Serbian squad. Nedovic top-scored for the winners with 16 points, while Mitrovik and Musli netted 14 each. Blaus finished the night with 19 points and Zeidaks scored 16.
