Regular Season Round 9: Leipzig - Herten Lions 76-78

The most interesting game of round 9 in ProB was a very close only two-point only two-point defeat of 8th ranked Leipzig on the road to third ranked Herten 76-78. American swingman Marcus Monk (198-86, college: Arkansas) stepped up with double-double 24 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and power forward Christoph Hackenesch (204-86) helped with 18 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman) with double-double 19 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Ralph Schirmer (203-86) with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Leipzig added third loss to their record. That victory allowed Herten (7-2) to take over a leadership position. They share it with Stahnsdorf, Licher Baeren and Leitershofen. Leipzig (3-6) on the other side took eighth place. Herten are looking forward to the next round to face league's second-placed Stahnsdorf on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leipzig will play against Bernau (#12) hoping to prove their supporters that they can break losing series.
