Regular Season Round 6: Galatasaray - Mersin 85-76

Date: November 20, 2010
There was no surprise in Istanbul where 12th ranked Mersin (1-5) was defeated by ninth ranked Galatasaray (4-2) 85-76. The biggest contributor to a victory was American guard Taylor Rocheste (185-85, college: Washington St.) with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Slovakian power forward Radoslav Rancik (207-79, college: St.Cloud St., agent: Misko Raznatovic) helped with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Galatasaray's coach Oktay Mahmudi used 11-player rotation giving the chance to rest for starting five. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Dionte Christmas (196, college: Temple) who recorded 18 points and naturalized Bosnian center Asim Pars (212-76, agent: Mira Poljo) added 14 points and 6 rebounds. Thanks to that win Galatasaray moved-up to fifth place. Mersin dropped to the thirteenth place with five games lost. They share it with Tofas, Trabzonspor and Oyak Renault. Galatasaray are looking forward to the next round to face Turk Telekom (#11) in Ankara where they are favorite. Mersin will play at home against Efes Pilsen hoping to prove their fans that it was just an accident.
