Regular Season Round 9: MTV Wolfenbuettel - SU Medien 63-64

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked SU Medien (3-6) edged on the road 10th ranked Wolfenbuettel (2-7) 64-63. Center Frank Theis (200-82, agent: Stefan Heinrich) stepped up with 24 points for the winners and center Daniel Theis (205-92) helped with 12 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Henje Knopke (193-85) with double-double 15 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists and American forward Justin Sexton (203-88, college: Pomona-Pitzer) with 16 points. Coach Alexander Biller tried in this game 10 players in such tough game. Wolfenbuettel added third loss to their record. That victory allowed SU Medien (3-6) to climb to eighth place. They share it with Leipzig, Dt.Bank SKY II and Schwenningen. Wolfenbuettel (2-7) on the other side went down to eleventh position. SU Medien are looking forward to the next round to face higher ranked Rist-Wedel (#7) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wolfenbuettel will play against Schwelm (#3) hoping to win this game.
