Regular Season Round 5: Ovarense - CAB Madeira 87-79

CAB (#4) was upset in Ovarense by seventh ranked Ovarense 79-87. Former international center Nuno Cortez (205-82) nailed double-double 13 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and American forward Ryan Schneider (201-85, college: Marist) accounted for 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Nathan Menefee (183, college: Evergreen St.) came up with 21 points and 7 rebounds and international center Jorge Coelho (200-78) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for CAB in defeat. Coach Joao Freitas tried in this game 10 players saving starting five for next games. That victory allowed Ovarense (3-2) to climb to third place. They share it with Benfica and Sampaense. CAB (3-3) on the other side went down to sixth position as they recorded their third loss. Ovarense's next round game will be against Vitoria SC (#8) at Guimaraes which should be theoretically an easy game. CAB will play at home against Academica to get back on winning track.
