I am not sure if we can call it an upset between close teams when 7th ranked Bayer Giants (4-5) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Rist-Wedel (4-5) 82-73. Canadian forward Mitch Leger (198-87) stepped up with double-double 22 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and guard Steffen Kiese (189-87) helped with 12 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American center Nick Michael (208-85, college: Elmhurst) with 18 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and guard Farid Sadek (188-83) with 19 points and 4 assists. That victory allowed Rist-Wedel (4-5) to climb to seventh place. They share it with defeateddefeated Bayer Giants. Rist-Wedel are looking forward to the next round to face SU Medien (#9) in Braunschweig. Bayer Giants will play at home against ALBA Berlin II hoping to win this game.
