The game between closely ranked teams ended when eighth ranked Heidelberg (5-4) won at home against 9th ranked SOBA Dragons (4-6) 89-81. It was a good game for former international power forward Bjorn Schoo (213-81, college: Northern St., agent: Side Court) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Kai Barth (188-89) contributed with double-double 12 points and 10 assists for the winners. Heidelberg's coach Torsten Daume allowed to play his deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Sanijay Watts (193-87, college: Cent.Missouri, agent: Ingo Wolf) answered with double-double 19 points and 10 rebounds and his countryman guard Kyle Moore (191-87, college: Tusculum) added 22 points for SOBA Dragons. Heidelberg (5-4) jumped to the sixth spot. They share that position with Chemnitz and Kirchheim. SOBA Dragons dropped to the tenth place with 4-6 record. Heidelberg are looking forward to the next round to face Chemnitz (#8) on the road. SOBA Dragons will play against Jena hoping to prove their supporters that it was just an accident.
