Regular Season Round 16: Dnipro - Halychyna 78-72

Date: November 21, 2010
Rather expected game in Dnepropetrovsk where 10th ranked Halychyna (5-10) was defeated by eighth ranked Dnipro (8-7) 78-72. However just 4-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Steve Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and former international center Daniel Kozlov (207-82) who added 19 points and 7 rebounds. Dnipro's coach Denys Zhuravlov allowed to play his deep bench players and giving the chance to rest for starting five. At the losing side American forward Alan Wiggins (206-84, college: USF) responded with 26 points and 8 rebounds and Canadian center Scott Morrison (212-86, college: Portland St.) with 12 points and 7 rebounds. . Dnipro (8-7) has a solid series of four victories in a row. That victory allowed Dnipro (8-7) to climb to sixth place. Halychyna (5-10) on the other side took tenth position as they recorded their tenth loss. Dnipro are looking forward to the next round to face Mykolaiv (#7) in Mykolaiv. Halychyna will play on the road against league's new leader BC Donetsk hoping to prove their fans that it was just an accident.
