Regular Season Round 8: Alges - Boa Viagem 67-78

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Alges (2-5) was defeated at home by second ranked Boa Viagem (6-1) 78-67. The best player for the winner was American guard Brandie Hoskins (175-85) who had 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Her countrywoman guard Chevon Keith (178-86, college: W.Carolina) helped with 21 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Angelica Robinson (196-87, college: Georgia) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and former international forward Susan Foreid (182-80) added 15 points for the hosts. Boa Viagem maintains second position having just one point less than leader CAB Madeira. Alges dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. They share it with GDESSA and Barcelos. Boa Viagem are looking forward to the next round to face GDESSA (#8) in Barreiro where they are favorite. Alges will play on the road against Uniao Micaelense hoping to prove their fans that it was just an accident.
