Regular Season Round 15: Silute - Pieno Zvaigzdes 77-80

The most interesting game of round 15 in NKL was a very close only three-point home defeat of 11th ranked Silute to first ranked Pieno Zvaigzdes 77-80. It was a great evening for forward Nerijus Varnelis (200-78) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Gintautas Vileita (194-75, college: Monmouth) helped adding 19 points. The best for the losing side was power forward Erikas Kaupaitis (202-84, college: USC Upstate) with double-double 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Evaldas Jurkus (190-84) with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Pieno Zvaigzdes (14-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row comparing to four consecutive losses by Silute. Pieno Zvaigzdes (14-1) stay at first position. Silute (5-10) on the other side took tenth place. Pieno Zvaigzdes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Silute will play on the road against league's new leader Pieno Zvaigzdes (#1) hoping to prove their supporters that they can break losing series.
