I am not sure if we can call it surprise result between close teams when eighth ranked Chemnitz (6-4) smashed at home 7th ranked Heidelberg (5-5) 77-54. American guard Gary Johnson (188-82, college: Cent.Florida) fired 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. His countryman forward Terren Harbut (198-83, college: Ohio) helped with 12 points. Chemnitz's coach Torsten Loibl felt such comfortable that he used 10 players and gave the chance to rest for starting five. Guard Kai Barth (188-89) produced 12 points and American center Nathan Montgomery (203-87, college: Whitworth, agent: Gerrit Kersten-Thiele) added 11 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Chemnitz (6-4) has a solid series of three victories in a row. Thanks to that win Chemnitz moved-up to fifth place. Heidelberg dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Chemnitz are looking forward to the next round to face Jena (#11) on the road where they are favorite. Heidelberg will play against league's second-placed Wuerzburg hoping to win this game.
