Very expected game in Akdeniz where 13th ranked Mersin (1-6) was defeated by fourth ranked Efes Pilsen (6-1) 85-72. It was a great evening for Croatian center Nikola Vujcic (211-78) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. International power forward Kerem Gonlum (208-77) helped adding 16 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Dionte Christmas (196, college: Temple) responded with 22 points and his countryman swingman Vincent Grier (195-83, college: Minnesota, agent: John Greig) with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players and gave the chance to rest for starting five. Efes Pilsen (6-1) has a solid series of three victories in a row. That victory allowed Efes Pilsen (6-1) to climb to second place. They share it with Antalya and Banvit. Mersin (1-6) on the other side took thirteenth position as they recorded their sixth loss. Efes Pilsen are looking forward to the next round to face Turk Telekom (#11) in Ankara hoping to win another game.
