Regular Season Round 10: Leipzig - Wasserburg 67-77
Date: November 28, 2010
Very predictable result when second ranked Wasserburg (8-2) won on the road against 10th ranked Leipzig (3-7) 77-67. It was a very good performance for American forward Sequoia Holmes (185-86, college: UNLV) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds. Australian-Maltese swingman Rebecca Thoresen (178-78) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Wasserburg's coach Hans Brei used 10-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American forward Lacey Haughian (188-86, college: Black Hills St.) replied with double-double 14 points and 14 rebounds and forward Britta Hueske (176-85) added 22 points and 5 rebounds for Leipzig. Wasserburg (8-2) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They did not change their second position in the standings. Leipzig dropped to the eighth position. They have the same record like Halle and Herner. Wasserburg are looking forward to the next round to face league's leader Marburg on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Leipzig will play against Donau-Ries (#4) hoping to prove their fans that it was just an accident.
