Very predictable result when fifth ranked Ovarense (4-3) won against 11th ranked Lusitania (2-6) in Angra 73-63. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Nuno Cortez (205-82) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Matthew Webster (203-84, college: Evansville) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Ovarense players scored in double figures. American center Kenneth Cooper (208-87, college: UAB, agent: Michael Hart) came up with 9 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import center Marcel Momplasir (205-81, college: Rhode Island) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Lusitania in the defeat. Ovarense jumped to the fourth spot. They share the position with Academica. Lusitania keeps the eleventh position. Ovarense will meet at home league's leader Porto Ferpinta at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lusitania will play against Academica (#5) and hope to secure a win.
