There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Iasi (3-6) was smashed by sixth ranked Rapid (4-6) in Bucuresti 80-58. It was a good game for the former international guard Florina Diacona (176-82) who led her team to a victory with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Moldovan guard Natalia Burlakova (175-84) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International forward Alexandra Cutas (179-82) replied with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Doinita Panait (182-90) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Iasi. Iasi's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rapid jumped to the fourth spot in group South-East. Iasi dropped to the fifth position. They have the same record like Brasov. Rapid will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Iasi will play at home against the league's new leader Alexandria (#1) and is hoping to win this game.
