Regular Season Round 5: Electrico FC - Guifoes 62-68

Date: December 4, 2010
Everything could happen in Ponte de Sor at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Guifoes and 7th ranked Electrico FC had identical 2-2 record. But Electrico FC was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Guifoes 62-68. The best player for the winners was forward Andre Libanio (194-86) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Cape Verdean forward Odair Conceicao (197-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Angolan forward Benedito Suca (196-84) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and Angolan guard Edson Ferreira (183-86) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Thanks to that win newly promoted Guifoes moved-up to fifth place. Electrico FC at the other side keeps the seventh position with three games lost. Guifoes will face higher ranked Sangalhos (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Electrico FC will play against Povoa (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
