There was no surprise when 8th ranked Heidelberg (5-6) was defeated at home by second ranked Wuerzburg (9-2) 67-62. The best player for the winners was British-Australian guard Lee Jeka (187-83, agent: Grzegorz Piekoszewski) who scored 7 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American power forward Ivan Elliott (203-86, college: UCSB, agent: Ingo Wolf) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. Five Wuerzburg players scored in double figures. American guard Leonard Mendez (196-87, college: Georgia St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Bjorn Schoo (213-81, college: Northern St., agent: Side Court) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Wuerzburg maintains second place having just one point less than leader B.Muenchen.
