The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Dnipro's (10-9) home loss to fifth ranked Azovmash (11-7) 80-91 on Thursday. The game rather controlled by Azovmash. Dnipro managed to win fourth quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Ramel Curry (191-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas, agent: Michael Hart) who added 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Azovmash players scored in double figures. American guard Steve Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) responded with 29 points and Canadian forward Denham Brown (198-83, college: Connecticut, agent: Keith Kreiter) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Dnipro's coach Denys Zhuravlov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory allowed current champions Azovmash (11-7) to climb to the fourth place. They share it with Kryvbasbasket. Dnipro is currently in sixth position with a 10-9 record as they suffered their ninth loss. Azovmash will face bottom-ranked Khimik (#13) in Yuzhny in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
