There was no surprise in Bonn where 18th ranked Gloria Giants (2-10) was defeated by ninth ranked Telekom Baskets (7-6) 73-58 on Saturday. The game rather controlled by Telekom Baskets. Gloria Giants managed to win third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gloria Giants was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. International power forward Tim Ohlbrecht (211-88) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American center Chris Ensminger (209-73, college: Valparaiso, agent: Ingo Wolf) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. Lithuanian forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) produced 14 points and 4 assists and Nigerian-Canadian guard Olumuyiwa Famutimi (197-84, college: Arkansas) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Telekom Baskets. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with NY Phantoms. Loser Gloria Giants keep the bottom position with ten games lost. Telekom Baskets will have a break next round. Gloria Giants will play at home against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#10).
