The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Gelisim's (5-4) road loss to fourth ranked Gaziantep (7-2) 62-86 on Saturday. The game without a history. Gaziantep lead from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Gaziantep outrebounded Gelisim 33-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. Guard Cihan Delicay (185-83) stepped up and scored 16 points and 4 assists for the winners and American forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) chipped in 17 points. Four Gaziantep players scored in double figures. Gaziantep's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was power forward Orbay Kaya (205-82) with 21 points and guard Sercan Topcu (185-85) scored 9 points. The victory allowed Gaziantep (7-2) who are in their first very successful season in the TB2L to climb to the third place in group B. Gelisim is currently in fifth position with a 5-4 record as they suffered their fourth loss. Gaziantep will face league's leader Kepez Bld in Antalya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
