The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Beykoz's (3-6) road loss to seventh ranked Selcuk Universitesi (5-4) 54-76 on Saturday. The game rather controlled by Selcuk Universitesi. Beykoz managed to win third quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward James Peters (204-81, college: UNLV) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and center Emre Boztepe (205-86) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Enis Bayrak (204-89) with 21 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Gentry Lewis (206-81, college: Philander Smith) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory allowed Selcuk Universitesi (5-4) to climb to the fifth place in group B. They share it with Gelisim. Beykoz who is 3-6 went down to ninth position as they suffered their sixth loss. Selcuk Universitesi will face Akhisar Bld (#8) on the road in the next round. Beykoz's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena TED Istanbul.
