There was no surprise in Siauliai where 11th ranked ABRO-Univ. (6-13) was defeated by second ranked Meresta (14-5) 75-67. Meresta was already 13 points ahead at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 17-8 last quarter charge of ABRO-Univ. cut the lead to 75-67 at the end of the game. Meresta made 25-of-29 charity shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Meresta outrebounded ABRO-Univ. 36-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. Forward Audrius Danusevicius (204-74) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Liudas Radavicius (188-88) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Center Agnius Gurklys (205-88) replied with 14 points and guard Aivaras Kvedaravicius (184-88) added 16 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) in the effort for ABRO-Univ. Four ABRO-Univ. players scored in double figures. Meresta maintains second position with 14-5 record having four points less than leader Pieno Zvaigzdes. ABRO-Univ. lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with thirteen games lost. Meresta will play against Akademija (#13) in Vilnius in the next round which should be an easy win for them. ABRO-Univ. will play at home against Puntukas in Anyksciai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
