Regular Season Round 13: Wulfen - Bernau 97-88

There was no surprise when 12th ranked SSV Lok Bernau (2-11) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked BSV Wulfen (7-6) 97-88 on Friday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. BSV Wulfen shot 64.3 percent from the field and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for BSV Wulfen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Steve Briggs (178-85, college: Okla.Wesleyan) fired 36 points (!!!) and 7 assists for the winners. Forward Joseph Henley (196-85, college: Sacred Heart) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Power forward Dreshawn Vance (203-85, college: Cal Poly - SLO, agency: Rasmussen Services) produced 27 points (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and guard Calvin Brock (196-86, college: Illinois) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Four SSV Lok Bernau players scored in double figures. BSV Wulfen moved-up to fifth place in group North, which they share with ALBA Berlin II. SSV Lok Bernau lost their sixth straight game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with eleven games lost. BSV Wulfen will face league's second-placed RSV Eintracht in Stahnsdorf in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SSV Lok Bernau will play at home against Bayer Giants (#10) in Leverkusen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
