Gelisim (#6) forced the game against Optimum TED (#2) into a double-overtime, but lost by three points 87-90 on Saturday night. The game took place in Izmir. But the guests from Ankara were better at the end. Gelisim was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 23-18 charge of Optimum TED, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in double-overtime eventually winning that period 25-22. Swingman Ozgun Onver (195-82) scored 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Mehmet Nezih (206-80) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Optimum TED's coach Hakan Yavuz used a eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side forward Can Terzioglu (196-86) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Sercan Topcu (185-85) scored 16 points and 7 assists. Four Gelisim players scored in double figures. Optimum TED (9-1) keeps a position of group B leader, which they share with Kepez Bld. Gelisim lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with five games lost. Optimum TED will meet at home league's leader Kepez Bld in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gelisim will play against Istanbulspor (#9) and hope to secure a win.
