The game between fifth ranked Efes Pilsen (7-3) and 11th ranked Aliaga (3-7) in Istanbul on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Efes Pilsen outscored guests from Aliaga 107-67. The game without a history. Efes Pilsen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Aliaga's 32. Efes Pilsen outrebounded Aliaga 32-19 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. International guard Ender Arslan (190-83) notched 17 points and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Serbian guard Igor Rakocevic (191-78) supported him with 20 points. Five Efes Pilsen players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Brandon Hunter (201-80, college: Ohio) did not help to save the game for Aliaga. His fellow American import guard Jerome Randle (178-87, college: California) added 15 points and 4 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Efes Pilsen jumped to the fourth spot. They share the position with Antalya. Aliaga lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place. They have the same record like Tofas and Trabzonspor. Efes Pilsen will meet Bornova (#8) on the road in the next round. Aliaga will play against Mersin in Akdeniz and hope to secure a win.
