Regular Season Round 10: Usak - Final Genclik 84-81

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Usak as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Vestel) loss. Usak edged 6th ranked Final Genclik in Usak 84-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Final Genclik. Final Genclik was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 24-15 third quarter run of Usak. They made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Final Genclik was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of center Cem Coskun (209-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Esat Sinanoglu (188-82) contributed with 16 points and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Sayit Ay (185-80) replied with 22 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and center Ercan Karalar (200-84) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Final Genclik. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Usak has a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Genc Banvit. Final Genclik at the other side dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Istanbul B.B.. Final Genclik will play next round against Darussafaka trying to get back on the winning streak. Usak will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Orman Genc at Ankara.
