Seventh-ranked Tundja (3-8) gave a tough game to second ranked Levski (9-2) in Yambol on Wednesday. The visitors from Sofia managed to secure only three-point victory 101-98. However their fans expected much easier game. Levski made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Tundja helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Jason Crowe (193-76, college: Cal.St. Northridge) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. International power forward Stefan Georgiev (206-78) helped adding 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Nikolay Varbanov (209-85, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and guard Martin Durchev (200-87) scored 29 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Levski maintains second place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Lukoil Academik. Tundja at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Chernomorets. Levski are looking forward to face Balkan (#3) in Botevgrad in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tundja will play on the road against the league's leader Lukoil Academik in Sofia and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
