Regular Season Round 11: Antalya - Trabzonspor 93-66
Date: December 25, 2010
There was no surprise when 12th ranked Trabzonspor (3-8) was outplayed on the road by fifth ranked Antalya (8-3) 93-66. The game was mostly controlled by Antalya. Trabzonspor managed to win fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Antalya outrebounded Trabzonspor 38-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Trabzonspor's players. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Patrick Christopher (196-88, college: California) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Muratcan Guler (192-80, agency: 1x1 Sports) accounted for 11 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Four Antalya players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Goran Cakic (208-80, agency: Beo Basket) came up with 10 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Ali Karadeniz (203-80, college: Arizona) added 16 points respectively for Trabzonspor in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Antalya moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Efes Pilsen. Newly promoted Trabzonspor keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. They share it with Tofas. Antalya will play against Erdemir (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Trabzonspor will play against Banvit in Balikesir and hopes to get back on the winning track.
