Very important is a road loss of second ranked Budivelnyk (17-4) against fourth ranked Azovmash (14-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Budivelnyk was defeated by fourth ranked Azovmash (14-8) in Mariupol 81-71. It was a good game for American power forward Demetrius Alexander (204-75, college: Alabama) who led his team to a victory with 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Ramel Curry (191-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Azovmash players scored in double figures. American forward Zach Morley (203-83, college: Wisconsin) replied with 14 points and 7 rebounds and British center Andrew Betts (216-77, college: Long Beach St.) added 11 points in the effort for Budivelnyk. Budivelnyk's coach Josep Berrocal rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Azovmash has a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Budivelnyk at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Azovmash will play against Khimik (#12) in Yuzhny in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Budivelnyk's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kyiv BC Kyiv.
