No shocking result in a game in Mariupol where fourth ranked Azovmash (14-8) defeated bottom-ranked BC Kyiv (5-18) 81-69. The game was mostly controlled by Azovmash. BC Kyiv managed to win third quarter 24-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Azovmash brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by American forward Chris Owens (204-79, college: Texas, agency: Pro One Sports) who scored that evening 23 points and Croatian power forward Drago Pasalic (208-84) supported him with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Azovmash players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 9 rebounds by the former international forward Vitaly Kovalenko (201-84) did not help to save the game for BC Kyiv. Azovmash's next round opponent will be Khimik (#12) in Yuzhny and are hoping to win another game. BC Kyiv's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kyiv to the arena Budivelnyk.
