We should mention about the upset which took place in Bursa, where higher ranked Besiktas (7-4) was outleveled in a road game by thirteenth ranked Tofas (4-8) 94-72 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Besiktas. The game was mostly controlled by Tofas. Besiktas managed to win fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tofas dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Besiktas' 40. Tofas outrebounded Besiktas 47-24 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tofas made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was Croatian power forward Tomislav Ruzic (208-79) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. American guard Jason Rowe (178-78, college: Loyola (MD)) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Allen Iverson (184-75, college: Georgetown) who recorded 26 points and 5 assists and Australian center Andrew James Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Tofas and four Besiktas players scored in double figures. Tofas moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Aliaga. Loser Besiktas keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Tofas will face higher ranked Olin Edirne (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
