Regular Season Round 12: Galatasaray - Fener.Ulker 67-56

Round 12 in TBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Istanbul where host Galatasaray (10-2) beat league's leader Fenerbahce Ulker (10-2) 67-56 on Wednesday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 25-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Tutku Acik (194-80) who scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Preston Shumpert (198-79, college: Syracuse) chipped in 16 points. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Oguz Savas (208-87) who recorded 14 points and the former international guard Omer Onan (194-78) added 16 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Galatasaray have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fener.Ulker and Banvit. Fenerbahce Ulker will play next round against strong Efes Pilsen trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Galatasaray will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Besiktas in Istanbul.
